Sheet metal & duct work
Custom sheet metal and duct work from our own shop
Hot spots, weak vents and a system that never shuts off are usually duct problems. We fabricate and install the fix in-house.
Comfort problems do not always start with the equipment. Uneven temperatures, weak airflow, noisy vents and a system that runs longer than it should very often trace back to the ductwork, not the unit.
RCI runs a full-service sheet metal shop. That means we measure, design, fabricate and install duct components ourselves instead of working around whatever is on the shelf. We have done it for 27 years, in Oklahoma homes and in large commercial buildings, and we service all brands of equipment the ducts connect to.
Problems custom duct work solves
When ducts are undersized, leaking, poorly routed or out of balance, even a brand-new system feels underpowered. Custom duct work fixes:
- Hot and cold spots between rooms or zones
- Weak airflow at certain vents
- A system that runs constantly without reaching the setpoint
- Rising energy costs from airflow inefficiency
- Noisy duct operation
- Comfort problems after an addition or layout change
Why we fabricate in-house
Standard duct parts do not fit every building. Older homes, remodels, multi-level buildings and commercial spaces with specialized airflow needs often need pieces made to the space. Our shop gives us control over fit and quality that most companies cannot offer.
- More even temperatures throughout the building
- Better system efficiency
- Less wear on HVAC components
- Better performance in extreme heat and cold
- Quieter operation
Residential duct work
Homeowners often assume uneven comfort means the system is too old or too small. Sometimes it is. Just as often the equipment is fine and the ducts are not supporting it. We look at the whole system, fix the root cause, and take a repair-first approach when that is what makes sense. That might be a few targeted adjustments or a full duct upgrade.
Commercial duct work
Offices, restaurants, schools and large commercial buildings need duct systems that hold consistent comfort across multiple zones. We handle new commercial build-outs, commercial kitchen and kitchen hood exhaust, and high-capacity systems up to 200-ton air handlers. Airflow affects your staff, your customers, your tenants and the life of your equipment, and we plan for all of it.
Straight answers
Duct work is an unfamiliar part of HVAC for most people. We explain what we see, how it affects comfort, and what options make sense for your space and budget. If a new system still is not delivering, or your heating and cooling has never felt balanced, the ducts are the first place to look.
How do I know if the ducts are the problem?+
The usual signs: some rooms never cool or heat right, certain vents barely move air, and the system runs constantly without reaching the setpoint. If the equipment checks out and those symptoms remain, it is the ducts.
Do I need to replace all my ductwork?+
Usually not. Often it is a few undersized runs, a leaking trunk line, a bad return or poor balance. We fix what is actually wrong.
Can you do duct work for a commercial build-out?+
Yes. We fabricate and install duct for new commercial construction, tenant finish-outs, kitchen exhaust and hood systems, and large air handlers.
Should I fix the ducts before replacing my AC?+
Ideally at the same time. A new system on bad ductwork will underperform from day one. We check the ducts as part of any installation and fabricate what is needed.
