Emergency heating
No heat? Call us
When the furnace quits in a cold snap, we come out fast, find the fault, and get the heat back on.
A house with no heat in an Oklahoma cold snap gets unsafe fast, especially for kids, older folks, and anyone with health problems. Pipes freeze, nobody sleeps, and every hour you wait the repair gets no cheaper.
RCI puts no-heat calls at the front of the line, seven days a week. We're a family-owned shop with 27 years of experience, we work on all brands, and we get to no-heat calls the same day in most cases.
What counts as a heating emergency
- The furnace won't turn on at all
- It runs but only blows cold air
- It short cycles, turning on and off rapidly
- The house can't hold a safe temperature
- Loud or unusual noises that point to a failing part
- A major airflow failure leaving parts of the building dangerously cold
- A business that can't operate safely or comfortably
Check these before you call
A few quick checks rule out the simple stuff. They won't fix every problem, but they'll save you a service call if it's something easy.
- Thermostat set to heat, and set higher than the room temperature
- Thermostat batteries fresh
- Air filter clean. A clogged filter can shut the furnace down
- Breaker for the furnace not tripped
- Furnace power switch on
- Supply registers and return vents open and unblocked
Safety first
If you smell gas, leave the building right away and call your gas company and 911 from outside. Do not flip switches or try to restart the furnace.
If a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, get everyone out and call emergency services. If you don't have working CO detectors, get them. A cracked heat exchanger can put carbon monoxide into the house with no smell and no warning, which is why we check it on every furnace call.
What an emergency call includes
Furnaces fail from airflow problems, worn parts, electrical faults, and plain seasonal strain. We've seen most of it in 27 years.
- Full system evaluation
- Testing of igniter, flame sensor, limits, and controls
- Heat exchanger and carbon monoxide safety check
- Airflow and filter review
- Repair and stabilization so the heat stays on
Businesses and duct problems
We handle emergency heating for offices, retail, restaurants, schools, and commercial buildings across the OKC metro, including large air handlers and kitchens.
Sometimes the equipment runs and the building still feels unheated. Duct leaks and balance problems can leave whole zones cold. With our own sheet metal shop, we fix the duct instead of patching around it.

How fast can you get here?+
No-heat calls get priority and same-day service in most cases, seven days a week. Call and we'll give you an honest arrival window.
Will you push me into a replacement during an emergency?+
No. We look at the cause, the repair cost, the unit's condition, and your budget. If a repair makes sense, that's what we do.
What should I do while I wait?+
Close off unused rooms, keep interior doors open to circulate warmth, let faucets drip if it's well below freezing, and use space heaters safely, away from anything flammable.
Do you handle emergency heat pump failures?+
Yes. Heat pumps that stop heating, stay iced over, or run only on auxiliary heat are common winter calls for us.
